The four of us are excited to step into our new roles as incoming committee co-chairs. Charlece “Charlie” Bishop and Mia Harris will lead AAEDP beginning this year with Ashley Acle and Neeru Bakshi leading BIPOC. We look forward to working to increase awareness of our community and positively impact iaedp™ and the Eating Disorders field.

2022 marks the sixth anniversary of AAEDP, since its co-founding by Charlynn Small Ph.D., CEDS-S and Mazella Fuller, Ph.D., MSW, LCSW, CEDS-S, and the third anniversary of our BIPOC subcommittee! 🎉

Our community grew over the last three years, leading monthly Culturally Competent Conversations, a symposia scholarship initiative, and expanding educational workshops within iaedp™ about anti-blackness, allyship, and racial diversity. These would not have been possible without the leadership and service of AAEDP Co-Chairs Carolyn Coker Ross, MD, MPH, and Paula Edwards-Gayfield, MA and BIPOC Subcommittee Co-Chairs Marvice Marcus, Ph.D. and Norman H. Kim, Ph.D. Thank you for your passion and dedication to our iaedp™ community!

More to come…
