Elizabeth Scott LCSW, CEDS-S

Elizabeth Scott LCSW, CEDS-S, is an educator and psychotherapist whose work focuses on the intersection of embodiment, social justice and mindfulness. As Co-Founder and Director of Training for The Body Positive, Elizabeth instructs treatment professionals, educators, and students to use the Be Body Positive prevention model to end eating disorders and promote joyful embodiment. This model is presented in the book, Embody: Learning to Love Your Unique Body (and quiet that critical voice!) By Connie Sobczak. For 20 years she has been developing her Big Hearted Embodiment approach to treatment in her psychotherapy practice. In this approach she blends The Be Body Positive model with the exciting findings from Niva Piran’s fifteen year qualitative study on the Developmental Process of Embodiment and wisdom gathered from her intensive study of Mindfulness. She trains hundreds of professionals nationally and supervises therapists pursuing their CEDS, both in person and on-line.
